Rajon Ki Baoli: is a good source of water, where water is stored. It is very deep as well. One time there was too much problem with water so to full fill this need king built many wells and baolis.
Rajon means ‘mistri’ (mechanic). This baoli wasn’t made for a king. Even it is baoli of a mechanic. Rajon Baoli is mehrauli village, New Delhi 110016. It is in between forests so very less people know about it but it has very good architecture.
In 1506 Daulat Khan built this baoli in a period of Sikander Lodhi. There are a total of 3 floors. There are so many rooms where the Court mechanic used to live and mainly they used the water of Bali.
Architecture of Rajon Ki Baoli
The Rajon Baoli is very big baoli. There are a total of 7 baoli in Delhi. It has excellent architecture. It is rectangular. On Bali, there are two floors and there is a big stair which goes toward Baoli. There are so many rooms beside the baoli. And upside there is the roof and on that, there is one tomb and mosque. It is 700 years old baoli. By standing on the roof of Baoli you can see all the monuments of Mehrauli village. There are walls on the west and east sides of Baoli. The baoli contains one well also but it is covered with iron gill. It is so deep. As well as you get to see one dome, tomb and beautiful mosque also on Baoli’s roof.
History of Baoli
As Daulat Khan built this baoli in Mehrauli. He was the administrator of the Lodi dynasty. It was the residence of a court mechanic. They used to bathe with this water and also used it for daily work. It was built for the facility of mechanics. There is a well also which has a very amazing design. Except for it, there is one dome and one mosque on the roof of Baoli. The ball’s water reaches its stairs. This water comes from land naturally.

The Baoli was built for the fulfilment of water. It is also important as a tour place. Because Baoli contains three floors. It has several rooms, a well, a dome, mosque. And tomb. It complete need for water as well as it was used for residence. It is a very beautiful structure we cannot describe its beauty in words. The archaeological park and Qutub Minar are near Rajon Ki Baoli. By Bali, today’s youth are aware of water management and also gain knowledge to save water. In ancient times there was no electricity or motor so people used water from wells, ponds, and baoli. The Gandhak Baoli is the biggest in Delhi. And Rajon baoli is a single baoli which contains well. The one best advantage of baoli is that we get water without electricity and water.
Timing and Entry Fees to Visit Rajon Baoli
The Rajon Ki Baoli is open every day from 10 Am to 5 P.m. There are no entry fees. It is at Mehrauli Archeological Park Forest. Qutub Minar is the nearest metro station here on the Yellow Line. To visit Rajon Ki baoli you can take a bus or auto. There is no restriction to photography you can take pictures.
Attractions to visit near Rajon Baoli
Archeological Park: It is at Mehrauli in the south Delhi district. It is on 200 acres of area and it has many beautiful monuments. There you get to see the best example of architecture.
Qutub Minar: It is at Mehrauli, in south Delhi. This seminar is a very famous monument in Delhi and it is a UNESCO World Heritage site in Mehrauli. Its construction was by Qutub ud-din-Aibak. And then Iltumish and Firoz Shah built another part of it. Its height is 73 meters. It is made of red sandstone.
