Sultan Ghari Tomb: It is one of the oldest fort Of Delhi. Sultan Ghari's tomb was built in the Mughal period. This Tomb had constructed iltutmais in 1231 for his big son Nasiruddiun Mehmood.
It is located in Ruchi Vihar, Vansant Kunj, and New Delhi 110070. It has Mughal architecture. This Tomassivery is big and its architecture is superb. Yes, it has no more floors and it is simple. There is no paint on the wall of Sultan Ghari Tomb. But for design is nice there is a very good white structure in the centre of the fort. There is also a courtyard. You can also take your children here. It is in between forests so very less people know about it. The Sultan Ghari Tomb has a very interesting story.
Architecture of Sultan Ghari Tomb
There are used two types of materials to build the Sultanghari The first is red sandstone and the second is bricks. If you look carefully it will appear to you in two colours. Down side part is dark red and the upper part is something orange-yellow. It has several windows of pan shape and the fort entry gate is also very, It is in size of a fort. On the entry gate, there is written something in Urdu. There are also four structures around the fort in temple style and it is the best structure and an attraction of people. It has a beautiful Ceiling and it has two floors only including the roof.
History of Sultan Ghari Tomb
In 1206 Qutub Din Aibak captured Delhi and The Gulaam Vansh, khilgi Vansh, Tughlaq Vansh, saiyad Vansh, and Lodhi Vansh Established Delhi saltant. When the Qutubdin Aibak's empire was destroyed so iltutamish and his partner killed his son Aaram Shah.
- Iltutamish had four children including one small daughter. He had a big son Nasiruddin Mehmood so he built this fort for him after his death.
- In 1925 Qutub din Aibak captured Bengal. And he made Nasiruddin viceroy of Avadh and Bangal.
- In 1929 Nasiruddin died in Bangal but there is no proof that he died in disease or he was murdered. He was buried in Delhi.
Fact about Sultan Ghari Tomb
It is the oldest Islamic monument in Delhi India. It is near Indira Gandhi International Airport. It has a white main gate of sungmarmar. it has four domes in the corner of the fort. It is venerable for Hindus and Muslims both. Nasiruddin was the brother of the Rajiya sultan who was also the ruler of Saltant.
Entry fees and Timing in Sultan Ghari Tomb
The Sultan Ghari tomb is open from 7 Am to 5 P.m. Its entry charge is ₹25 for Indians and foreigners 100 rupees.
How to reach Sultan Ghari Tomb
- This is near Lodhi Hotel away 205 meters. 262 meters away there is Delhi Public School.
- The Police station Nizamuddin is 262 meters away and from there you can go to Sultan Ghari fort by walking for 4 minutes.
- So some distance there is one more Police station 207 meters away.
The bus pass from Sultan Ghari: 410Cl, 413, 418A, 419, 419SLT, 427, 727, 894, and 930.
