JahaZ Mahal: This is an amazing place. Jahaz Mehal is a good place for enjoyment. this is near This is in Talab Lane, Aam Bagh, khanda colony. Mehrauli, in Delhi 110030. it is designed in Mughal architecture. It was built in the Lodhi period. Hauz- I -Shamsi is near to it. Its construction period is (1452- 1526).

One monument of Jahaz Mahal looks like JahaZ (ship) little. There is a reservoir in front of it so when you see that that monument will look like a ship. Lodhi‘s king had made it for spending time here.

  • Jahaz Mahal has a rectangular structure. Ghyasuddin Khilji had built it.
  • It combines Afghan, Mughal, Hindu, and Mesopotamian Architectural
  • This is 361 Feet by 56 long and 33 feet high.
  • The Mahal’s width is 3 Feet. It contains parapet, broad eave, and triforium. There are opened pavilion, kiosk and balcony on the roof.
  • It increases sounds. This Mehal is surrounded by water that gives it the look of a floating Ship in water.

History of Mahal

The one reason behind building it is accommodation. There used to come many Muslim visitors from Arab, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran so they are given a foothold here.

It was also built with the purpose of it so that kings, Akbar Shah I, Bahadur Shah II and their family could live away from hotness and dust.

It was built before starting the Mughal Empire and the attack of Babur in 1526.

What is in Jahaz Mahal

There are included lights and sounds with new techniques. Which gives me an amazing experience in life. It provides the uncommon experience of Mandu history and monuments related to it.

Entry fees, Timing and important guidelines

  • It is open all week 6 am to 7 pm.
  • The entry fee is 5 rupees to go To Jahaz Mahal.
  • For foreign visitors, the entry fee is 100.
  • You can spend a minimum of 2 hours here only.
Feature of Jahaz Mehal
  • It was built in 15 1926 century by Ghiyasuddin Khilji. There you get to see huge rooms on the lower floor.
  • It is connected to a corridor. There is also built bathing pool for queens.
  • There is a pavilion.
  • There you can see the view of ‘Manj Sagar Talaab’.
  • There you get an artistic and beautiful staircase.
  • Here the roof is 62 meters long and 14 meters wide. There are pools in lotus shape on it.
  • This was filled by Rehat techniques. This is a single monument in Mandu where is done plaster
  • This building was built with iron and stone.

This is located in Talaab lane, Aam Bagh, khanda colony. Mehrauli, in Delhi 110030.

 

You can go by these vehicles

Metro: if you want to reach early anywhere this option is best for you. The nearest metro station is Qutub Minar. Metro has made the journey easy

Bus:  You can take the bus also to visit Jahaz Mehal. For females travelling by bus is free. Bus no 413, 428, 523, 534, 534A, 536, 715, go to Jahaz Mehal.
