Okhla Bird Sanctuary: In this Park 390 types of birds why it is called Bird Sanctuary Park. This is in 4 square kilometers. It is located in sector A15, Noida Uttar Pradesh. The park is attached to the Yamuna River. There you get to see amazing views of nature. Except for it, there is so much greenery, grassland, trees and wetland-like ponds. There are found 10 types of animals like cows, buffalo, etc. There is a big walking area when you enter the park you get a bridge of wood which looks very beautiful. You can say it is a forest also but it is very wonderful. People get peace to visit here.
Interesting things in Okhla Bird Sanctuary
The most interesting thing is birds of different types. There are 390 types of birds. And you get there 10 types of animals. It has a big lack. This Bird Sanctuary Park looks like a forest but its management is very good. And it is maintained very well. There you get fun of nature. There is also a cafe where you can take tea or snacks from here. The park includes a big walking area and it has two roads raw and paved roads.
- In 1990 Yamuna River was designed as a Bird sanctuary park by the utter Pradesh government under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972. Because it is located in Okhla village it is named Okhla Bird Sanctuary Park.
- The bird sanctuary is located where the Yamuna River enters Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the important (bird places) I.B.A. This place is famous for its natural beauty.
You get here wonderful plants, a bridge, a boat and a camp. There you also get to see two towers in the field from where you can see the view of the modern city. You can see big and modern buildings by standing on a tower.
History Of Okhla Bird Sanctuary Park
There are 1000 birds from foreign countries and they live here from October to March. If you want to see these birds so come here in the Oct-march period. It has been announced a safe place by the Wildlife Protection Act and this place is safe. You will not get to listen to any kind of incident. But you need to be careful because there you can get snakes also.
- Major General P.W Hatson recorded the bird of Okhla during his course ornithological survey in Delhi from June to May Month. Usha Ganguli recorded avifauna from this site in her book. The book's name is ‘A Guide To the Birds of the Delhi’.
- The bird's numbers have decreased within a few years due to the pollution of rivers and the shrinking habitat of marshland. This sanctuary is in danger because of city development and industrialization. In October 2013 Tribunal published a guideline that all construction which happens within a 10 km distance from Okhla bird sanctuary will be under MoEF rules.
Timing and Entry Fees in Okhla Bird Sanctuary
- The right time to visit here is 7:30 Am to 5 P.m. in winter. And in summer you can come between 7 am To 5: 30pm.
- It opens every day. The entry fee is ₹30 for Indian citizens and the foreign ticket price is ₹ 350. If you carry a camera in this park you have to pay ₹ 500 extra. The photography is allowed here.
How to reach Okhla Bird Sanctuary Park
Metro: You can come here by metro. The Okhla Bird Sanctuary is the nearest metro station of Okhla. As it is in Noida Uttar Pradesh in Delhi. This means this place is middle of the Noida and Delhi border.
Bus: You can take the bus to Noida. Many buses go from this side. And now there is a free ticket for females.
If you have your car or Vehicle you can also go in that, it's your choice but I won't tell you one thing there is no more good facility for parking there. You have to park your car on the road.
