  2. It has been included in the world's 100 best places to visit in 2018. The beautiful nursery has many gardens, ponds and historical monuments.
  3. It is said that this place was destroyed but the Archaeological Department of the Government of India has renovated it.
  4. Many gates and towers have been built here and here you will also see tombs and wells. It is said that all these towers were built by the Mughals.

  • The responsibility for the conservation of the historical buildings present in Sunder Nursery rests with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
  • In its first annual list of the World's Best Places for 2018, Famous magazine chose the places they thought were worth experiencing.
  • The 100 locations were selected based on several factors such as quality, originality, sustainability and impact.
  • Places created by many experts were included in this list. Museums, restaurants, hotels, libraries and cultural places from 48 countries have been included in this list.
  • There are only two parks on this list, one of which is a beautiful nursery and the other is a park in Moscow.

When was it established?
  1. The beautiful nursery has been recently renovated.
  2. The monuments present here were built by the Mughals but the gardens were established by the Government of India.
  3. The place was inaugurated by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu in February 2018.
  4. 50 thousand people come in a day to see this beautiful place.
  5. The architect of Sunder Nursery was M. Shaheer. Since 2007,
  6. following an agreement with the Central Public Works Department and ASI,
  7. The Aga Khan Trust for Culture has been working on the development of the Sunder Nursery, the conservation of the monuments and the restoration of the landscape.
  8. Its cultural preservation received support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the American Ambassador Fund.

Timings & Entry fee in Sunder Nursery Delhi:

The park has different entry fees for children, adults, senior citizens and foreign tourists, which are as follows-

  • For tourists from Indian/SAARC countries – Rs 50
  • For children aged 5 to 12 years – Rs 25
  • For Indian senior citizens above 60 years of age – Rs 25
  • For foreign tourists – Rs 200
  • Entry is free for children under 5 years of age and disabled tourists
  • Entry Timings: Sunder Nursery Park is open from 7 am to 10 pm.
how to reach Sunder Nursery Delhi?
  • By Metro: Metro is a convenient option to travel in Delhi. JLN Stadium metro station is located 1.5 km away from the nursery on the Violet Line. For this, you will have to catch the Pink Line metro and get down at Nizamuddin Dargah station.
  • By Road: One can take a DTC bus, auto rickshaw or app-based car/taxi to reach the nursery. It is easily accessible by road. You can take an e-rickshaw from the metro station to Hamayu Tomb for Rs 10. From there the path leads to the beautiful nursery. You can go on foot.
  • You can take a camera here. There is no fee for it. But plucking flowers may result in a fine.

Humayun's Tomb: Humayun's Tomb is a magnificent mausoleum located 500 meters away from Sunder Nursery. This mausoleum built in the 16th century is included in the world heritage. The mausoleum has Mughal-style architecture which displays the rich history and heritage of the Mughal Empire. It is a popular tourist destination.

Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah: Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia Dargah, located 650 meters from the park, is a Sufi shrine dedicated to the Sufi saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia. Dargah is a pilgrimage site. The stunning architecture and intricate artwork of the Dargah reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Sai Baba Temple: Sai Mandir is dedicated to Shirdi Sai Baba, located on Lodhi Road, 1.9 km from Sunder Nursery. The temple hosts many religious events throughout the year, including Sai Baba's birth anniversary and other festivals. The temple is a symbol of faith and devotion, which attracts people from all walks of life.

Lodhi Garden: Located 2.6 km from the park, Lodhi Garden is a historical park. It has tombs and monuments. The park is a popular destination for morning walks, photography and picnics.

Waste to Wonder Park: Waste to Wonder Park is a theme park located 2.8 km from Sunder Nursery that houses replicas of iconic wonders of the world made from recycled waste materials. The park houses famous replicas of the Eiffel Tower, the Tower of Pisa, the Taj Mahal and others.
